ARCH 5222 [0.5 credit] Structures


Fundamental structural principles and their building design applications. Concepts of equilibrium and mechanics of materials, including stress and strain. Structural calculations and qualitative understanding of static and dynamic loads, including gravitational and lateral forces. Includes consideration of wood, masonry, concrete, and steel structures.
Includes: Experiential Learning Activity
Precludes additional credit for ARCC 5097, CIVE 2005.
Prerequisite(s): ARCH 5221.
Also offered at the undergraduate level, with different requirements, as ARCH 2222, for which additional credit is precluded.
